A massive tank filled with that thick sweet nectar burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that swept through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, soaring to 25 feet in some areas, was devastating. Buildings were flattened under the weight of the unstoppable goo.
The aftermath was grim. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more suffered injuries. The flood also caused ruin to property, leaving a trail of sweet devastation in its wake.
